Mac Otakara reports that Apple is planning to refresh its iPad lineup in spring next year. The company will be introducing three iPad Pro models at the event. This includes a slightly bigger 10.1-inch iPad Pro that will replace the existing 9.7-inch model.

Apple will achieve this by increasing the dimensions of the tablet by only 1 cm in length and 0.5cm in width. This way the company will ensure that despite the increased display size, the 10.1-inch iPad Pro remains portable. The Cupertino company will also unveil a smaller 7.9-inch iPad Pro model that will replace the iPad mini. The 7.9-inch iPad Pro will feature a Smart Connector, four speakers, a True Tone display with DCI-P3 color gamut, and a higher resolution 12MP iSight camera.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will get similar upgrades that will see it come with True Tone Display with DCI-P3 color gamut support, 12MP iSight camera, and quad microphones. The other two iPad Pro variants will also feature quad microphones. Unlike the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the new iPad Pro variants will continue to feature a 3.5mm audio jack.

The new iPad Pro lineup from Apple is expected to start shipping in spring of 2017.

KGI analyst Kuo has also predicted that Apple will be refreshing its iPad lineup in early 2017. He also predicts that the 9.7-inch iPad will see its display size being bumped but to 10.5-inches instead of 10.1-inches as Mac Otakara predicts. The tablet will make use of a new display technology that will make zooming, panning, and UI interactions smoother on it.
