After introducing the Idol 4 smartphone and POP 7 LTE tablet at Bell and Virgin Mobile, Alcatel confirmed the release of yet another Android phone, the Lume.
However, the Alcatel Lume will be available at Telus and Koodo. According to Alcatel, the Lume will arrive at Telus on October 12, but customers will be able to grab the phone at Koodo Shops as well.
Aside from the new Lume smartphone, Alcatel will also launch the GO FI, a LTE-enabled portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The latter will be available beginning October 7 at TELUS and Koodo Shops. Sadly, neither the carrier nor the handset maker revealed any details regarding prices, so we will have to wait until these devices go on sale.
The Lume is an entry-level Android smartphone that sports a small 4-inch display. On the inside, the phone packs a quad-core processor, but other than that we don’t know anything else about Lume’s specs.
According to Alcatel, the Lume features “an efficient all-day battery.” The phone is also said to come with “exclusive Polaroid filters,” so users can capture and customize photos with ease thanks to no less than 17 different effects and 13 styles of frames.
On the other hand, the Alcatel GO FI offers download speeds of up to 150 Mbps, as well as the option to connect up to 15 different Wi-Fi enabled devices. The device is fully compatible with Alcatel’s Onetouch Smart Link app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Last but not least, Alcatel claims the GO FI also features a solid enough battery that can provide up to seven hours of continuous use.
