If you’re looking for the best clear/transparent cases for the Apple iPhone 7, you’ve landed on the right page!
In what follows, we’ll discuss the best iPhone 7 clear/transparent cases currently available in the US. Before we get to our recommendations, however, we’d like to briefly go over the reasons why clear (transparent) cases are preferable over other case types, such as rugged cases, leather cases, or battery cases.
While rugged iPhone 7 cases offer extreme protection for your investment, most of these are bulky and unattractive. Leather cases are one way to solve this problem, but some find that leather has no place covering a piece of high-end modern technology. If you want to protect your iPhone 7 without covering it in leather or bulky plastic, transparent cases are here to save the day: they offer some degree of protection for your iPhone 7 while still letting the beautiful design of the phone shine through.

We’ll start this roundup of the best iPhone 7 transparent cases with the OtterBox Symmetry series, now also available for Apple’s latest iPhone.
This clear iPhone 7 is made out of synthetic rubber and polycarbonate, a combination that allows the OtterBox Symmetry case to effectively protect the iPhone 7 while also putting the natural of the handset on display. If you need a slim transparent case for your new phone, this should be your first option.
Customers get the manufacturer’s certified “Drop+ Protection”, the installation is easy, and there’s also a raised edge that helps protect the touchscreen. On the downside, the price of $39.95 can easily be considered a bit much for a clear case.
If you need a bit more protection than what the OtterBox Symmetry case has to offer, check out the Naked Tough case from Case-Mate, another renowned case maker.
This comes with a shock-absorbing bumper, a feat that allowed the case to meet or exceed MIL-STD-810G drop test standards. Another interesting feature is the inclusion of metallic buttons, which add a bit of class to the case as a whole.
Moving on to a semi-transparent iPhone 7 case, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid cases are an alternative to consider. The body of the cases are made out of what the manufacturer calls Crystal Clear Polycarbonate, but the protective bumpers which surround the body of the phone are made out of TPU and are available in Crystal (transparent), Mint, Black, and Rose Crystal.
In terms of protection, these cases come with Spigen’s Air Cushion Technology, a feature that might save the day in case of accidental drops. Furthermore, raised lips help protect the camera and the screen. Like the previous cases listed here, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid meet military-grade protection standards.
As a nice little addition, the back of these cases comes with a dotted pattern that Spigen says is ‘smudge-free’.
If you’re on a tight budget, here’s a case that seems to match the features of previous cases at a fraction of the cost. The LK Ultra cases for the iPhone 7 might not come from a renowned manufacturer, but the clear TPU material that these cases are made out of will provide minimal protection for your handset while still allowing you to show off your Jet Black iPhone 7.
At this point, however, it should be mentioned that the number one reason why we’d recommend getting a clear iPhone 7 case from a renowned case manufacturer is that you get some sort of guarantee regarding the quality of the material. Lesser TPU doesn’t come with UV light protection, meaning that cheap transparent cases might get a yellow tint as time passes. We’re not saying that this case will do that, but it’s a risk you’re taking when you purchase a cheap transparent case.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, we find the Speck Presidio Clear iPhone 7 case. This one costs a hefty $39.95, which is kind of a lot for a transparent case. But then again, your iPhone 7 only deserves the best cases, right?
The interesting bit about these cases is the dual-layer build. The outer polycarbonate layer protects the phone against scratches and scuffs, but this is a commonly-used material. What’s interesting is the inner layer, which is made out of what Speck calls “Impactium”, a soft transparent material that promises to absorb and disperse shock, making it easier for the phone to survive drops. Speck says that its Presidio Clear iPhone 7 case is guaranteed to keep your iPhone 7 alive following drops from 8 feet.
